Alan P. Martin is one of the company’s founding managers and its director of operations, responsible
for production, circulation, graphic design, information technology and human
resources. A native of Greenville, SC, Martin started his publishing career in
1985 by creating and launching an entertainment publication in the Upstate. This
was followed by three years in circulation management at the Greenville News-Piedmont.
For over a decade, he received progressive promotions at six newspapers within
the Gannett Co., where he also completed advanced training and "graduate" study
programs in newspaper management. His experience includes the launch of a daily
newspaper in a highly competitive Northeastern market and audits of multiple newspaper
operations across the country. Martin graduated with honors from Biola University
