When are you going to start publishing every day or add a second day?
At this time, we have no plans to move to a daily frequency or add another day,
nor do we anticipate doing so in the future. We believe the current
Journal model, which allows readers the opportunity to enjoy the paper over a full week,
is more consistent with both the changing needs of today's fast-paced society
and the future of the newspaper industry.
How do you determine what goes in The Journal?
Our editorial team reviews each story and asks five general questions:
1. Is it happening in our community, and/or does it specifically impact the residents
of our community?
2. Will it interest a significant portion of our readers?
3. Is it timely?
4. Do we have the resources to cover the story effectively?
5. Do we have enough actual space in the publication to run the story?
If our editorial team can collectively answer yes to these questions, with particular
emphasis on questions 1 and 2, then the story goes into the paper.
How do I get something in The Journal?
You can mail, phone, fax, email or click on the
Comments & Questions link (under Talk to Us) to send your story ideas, press releases and photo opportunities
to
The Journal, but there are no guarantees that we will run it in the paper, as it must be
reviewed by our editorial team. You can also email or mail your photos to us.
Each photo must meet our quality standards for reproduction and specify each person
in the photo before it is reviewed by our editorial team.
